Purpose
The design engineer is responsible for the technical design of the system according to contract terms and quality and to keep the cost within the budget established for a given project.
Interrelations
Reporting to General Manager, HVAC Marine Newbuilding, China
Main working areas & responsibilities
? Technical and engineering design and daily operation within the specific projects area.
? Contributing to each project in relation to schedule, contractual obligations and realization of documentation.
? Together with Project Manager maintain good customer relations.
? Technical support and coordination.
? Prepare technical part in tender/quotation.
? Prepare cost and price calculations, for design, material, installation and all other associated project costs.
? Keep updated on domestic and international rules and regulations applicable for the work
? Assist the sales and / or project manager in regards to negotiating and settle change orders and variation claims with the customer.
? Work actively to reduce operating costs and cost of material
? Contribute to the monitoring of subcontractors’ performance and competitiveness.
? Responsible for that less experienced colleagues are supported and that engineering knowledge are transferred.

Qualifications
Mandatory requirements
? Education background: Degree in HVAC Engineering or comparable experience.
? Knowledge of HVAC drawing application based on AutoCAD.
? Experience in HVAC system design work.
? Good command of the English language, both oral and written.
? Possess understanding, analytical and decision making skills.
? Good knowledge on the use of common IT tools.
? Ability to meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities.
? Self-motivated, possess initiative, responsible and proactive.
? Team oriented and able to work independently.
? Willing to travel when needed.
? Outgoing personality with good communication and social skills
? Result oriented and co-operative.
