Job Description:
1. Should have advanced practical industry related experience.
2. Knowledge of related technical disciplines.
3. Knowledge of applicable Rules and Regulations and impact of Rule applications and interpretations.
4. Knowledge of company business policies and procedures.
5. The human relations skills necessary to maintain positive client contacts and provide leadership and motivation to subordinate staff and peers.
6. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
7. Ability to identify, analyze and solve complex or unique engineering problems.
8. Ability to undertake short- and long-term planning to provide for efficient and effective scheduling of work assignments.
9. A working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management Systems (internal candidates only).
Requirements:
B.S. degree in Welding or Metallurgy or other related disciplines; an M.S. is preferred.
Qualification and/or experience in non-destructive inspection techniques is strongly preferred.
Experience with welding in the marine or offshore industry is preferred.
Understanding of material selection for alternative fuels such as Ammonia, Liquid Carbon dioxide, would be helpful.
Demonstrated computer literacy in engineering software
Preference for graduates from a marine-industry recognized college or university
Good command of English language.
