Roles & Responsibilities:

• Specialist knowledge and understanding in:

a. Piping Reference data

b. MSD's (Material Selection Diagrams)

c. DPTD's (Design Pressure Temperature Design Diagrams)

d. Development of pipe specifications

e. Generation of pipe classes

f. Development of TBE's

g. Codes for design of piping components as well as testing methods

• Will be representing piping materials and specifications on project

• Specialist engineer who works unsupervised

• Will anticipate problems before they occur and seek to manage problems in a controlled and analytical manner to the satisfactory of all main parties

• Prepare requisition index for special piping items, indicating planned issue date for each requisition. Update and reissue monthly

• Prepare general notes requisitions or purchasing requirements for piping

• Review flowsheets for correctness of depicting piping and material

• Generate piping bulk requisitions from MTO

• Generate special piping item requisitions

• Prepare technical bid analysis for piping bulks as well as special piping items

• Assist Procurement Department with the expediting of supplier documents

• Advise Lead Piping Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups

• Co-ordinate with Procurement Department and ensure certified drawings are available in time to meet the engineering schedules

• Advise Lead Piping Engineer of circumstances considered to be subject to contract change
